Life! - Hurricane Jimena, RV, Marriage, Baby Boy, & Liamarie.

Dec - Made it to La Paz...nice beaches but where the RV park was, we were too far from town. La Paz has great selections of food and stores but just a bit too city for us. Went to the movies and meet a couple Patricia and Gary (Canadians). We hit it off so good they traveled to Los Barriles BCS with us...then will head north to Loreto, Mulege, and other cities. Then finally to San Felipe for the Blues and they might buy property there - we will see.
Jan - here in Los Barriles...it is okay still more to see. foun0 dout today that we will be having a Baby Boy Grandchild! Troy & Cherise are having a BOY! John guessed it he said "Troy's my boy and they will have a boy" We are very excited! Kathy & Jim sold their house & have to move out by Feb 1st - WOW! Talked to Liamarie - FINALLY - she apologized for being putting us through all she did with telling us to "Stay Out Of Her Life"...Things are going okay and we are happy! Working the area and Los Cabos to grow MLG.

I have to catch up on all that has happened in the last few months:
Sept - Hurricane Jimena headed for Baja as we were headed to Troy's wedding in Santa Barbara (Sept 6th). Damage to many towns but Loreto was okay. Was with our power for a few days and the cats were fine. Our friend Brent watched them when we were got for 10 days for the wedding.
Oct & Nov - Went to San Felipe did the Home show. Got the RV ready for traveling again thanks to Gene Jensen (our 2nd parent).

Jan 22, 2010 - Los Barriles

Jan 22, 2010 - John and I are in Los Barriles BCS for about two more weeks then to Loreto, Mulege, and to San Felipe for the Blues & Arts Fiesta on Mar 27th. We too can not wait to see you. I bet your fire pit is the best for the cool nights in San Felipe. We have had a few fires here nice reminds us of Cantu Cove with Cristine and Raine. We have also set up the TV out side and enjoyed movie under the stars, very cool!

We meet a couple from Canada in La Paz and they are traveling with us. They will be heading North with us and might buy property in San Felipe. Sunday we are going to the local hot springs for a relaxing day in the hot water. I think we will pack a lunch and do as little as we can & enjoy the nature.

We had a Polar Bear Plunge in La Paz Jan 1, 2010!
New Friends and New A
dventures!

Baja is A Special Place

Baja is a special place. The draw and appeal is personal and influences people in so many different ways, some find it inspires them to spread their artist wings and some become adventurers and explorers.

However, it is not for everyone, and that's okay with me. The fact the Baja is still wild in many parts is attractive to me, but some people come, leave and never return, without ever having been touched by the Baja magic.

I'm okay that it's rough around the edges and lacks the polish of our northern neighbors. It was the lack of rules, regiment, even paved roads that I loved so much and drew me back year after year, and still pulls me from one place to another in search of Baja utopia . . . but, how long will it last?

Baja is being upgraded. I love it and hate it all the same; I love being able to drive past San Felipe and continue south on a paved highway, but then I begin feeling selfish when I realize that the ease of getting there will open it up to those that would never have considered traveling any distance on rocky washboard roads.

Over the last couple of years, we've watched the road from the checkpoint to San Felipe turn into a

2010 New Years Polar Bear Plunge

On January 1st 2010, Rachel and I and our new friends Gary and Patricia, and Don and Ivonne at Hacienda del Sol in Northern La Paz, Baja California jumped into the unheated pool. The weather was about 80 degrees in the sun and 65 in the pool, not too cold for some, but damn cold for us.

Happy New Year
